TERMS AND CONDITIONS

If you book a 1:1 training session or group class with Positive Paws Dog Training you are confirming that you have read and accept these Terms & Conditions.

Dog Training

Health

All dogs must be vaccinated/up to date with their inoculations for distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo virus and parvo influenza. We may ask you for proof that your dog has current vaccinations.

Dogs should also be up to date with anti-flea and anti-wormers.

Insurance and Liability

Pet Insurance is highly recommended. Owners are responsible for all vet bills, no matter how they are incurred. We accept no responsibility for loss of, or injury to, your dog whilst training with us.

All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

We accept no responsibility for any damage to, theft of, or from your vehicle. Please do not leave valuables in your car and never leave any dogs unattended in a vehicle.

Training Methods

Positive Paws Dog Training uses positive, reward based methods as the most effective way to train dogs. We do not allow dogs to be handled forcefully during our training. Any owners who are seen to use forceful or negative handling methods will be asked to leave immediately and will not be offered a refund.

All dogs must either have a flat collar or harness.  Choke chains, check chains, prong collars or other punitive methods will not be accepted. No extending leads are to be used in classes or 1:1 sessions. 

All dogs must be kept on leads in and around the training venue unless instructed otherwise by the trainer.

We must be alerted to any behavioural problems prior to accepting a booking so that we can consider the most appropriate form of training for your dog. No aggressive dogs are allowed at our training classes and any dogs deemed to be aggressive by the trainer will be asked to leave. We can recommend specialist training in this case.

We have a strict booking limit on the number of dogs who can attend our group classes to ensure that all dogs and owners have access to individual as well as group training.

COVID-19 19 Regulations

Dependent on the COVID-19 19 regulations we may become unable to run your training session in person.  If this is the case all sessions will transferred to online training via Zoom where you will receive the same level of information and training as you would in person.

In these circumstances’ refunds will not be given.  If you are unable to train via Zoom, we will accommodate one rearrangement of the session.

If we are able to provide 1:1 training during this time.  All participants including the trainer will be required to stay a minimum of 2 metres away from each other.

All participants including the trainer will be required to bring their own equipment and protective clothing and/or hand sanitizer.

Should you or any of your family suffer symptoms you must inform your trainer immediately and follow the recommend guidelines at the time before re booking any training sessions.

Dependent on the current guidelines 1:1’s may take place in your garden. 

 

Online Classes/ 1:1’s

Online consultations and classes are held via a portal called Zoom; however, we can also carry these via telephone or WhatsApp.  They will adhere to the same terms and conditions to those held at in person venues.   Feedback can be given via follow up sessions or by the client sending videos of their progress for the trainer to review.

 

Payment Terms

Payment in full is required within 24 hours of booking in order to confirm your place.  Payment is made by BACS transfer (bank details supplied once a booking request is received). If payment is not received within this time, we reserve the right to re-allocate your place.

We regret that refunds are not available apart from in exceptional circumstances.

If you are unable to attend classes, it will still be run in your absence as we may not be able re-allocate your place to another paying client. For this reason, once payment has been made, no credit or refunds will be offered for classes you do not attend.

If you book a block of 1:1 sessions – (in person or online), full payment is required in advance and must be used within 2 months of the booking.  Any sessions not taken after this time will be lost.

Mileage will be charged at 45p per mile for anything further than a 5 mile distance from my base in Staines.  This is charged for both the journey to and from the destination.

Cancellations

It is as at the trainer’s discretion to terminate an owner’s place in a class or cancel a 1:1 training session if the owner does not pay, notify of cancellation of a lesson or displays unacceptable behaviour towards other owners, dogs or trainers.

In the unlikely event that Positive Paws Dog Training cancels a class or 1:1 session, a catch up session will be arranged, refunds will not be given.

If you cancel your 1:1 training session or place on a class up to one week before the consultation is due to happen you are obliged to pay a cancellation fee of £20.

Cancellation between one week and 48hours before the training session or class will be subject to a £40 cancellation fee.

Cancellation of your 1:1 training session or place on a class 48 hours or less before the consultation is due to take will be subject to a cancellation fee of the full cost.

Rescheduling an appointment is classed as a cancellation and will therefore still be subject to cancellation fees.

Rescheduling or cancellations of sessions within a block booking for 1:1’s are subject to the same cancellations terms.


Dog Walking

Health

The owner of the dog is responsible for any and all harm or damage caused by their dog while it is under the care of Positive Paws Dog Training and agrees to indemnify Positive Paws Dog Training in full against any liability arising from such harm or damage to third parties.

All dogs will be subject to an initial assessment prior to using Positive Paws dog walking services.  Positive Paws reserves the right to refuse a place to any dog deemed to be or have the potential to be dangerous or disruptive.

Positive Paws should be notified immediately of any unwelcome aggressive or dangerous behaviour of their dog that has the potential to cause harm to any other dog or individual.

 

Positive Paws can provide individual or group walking sessions. In the either case dogs may co-mingle in groups, therefore the owner accepts that during the course of normal dog play, some dogs can sustain injuries.  All dog play is carefully monitored to avoid injury wherever possible.

The owner is responsible for the full cost of treatment of any injuries or illness that their dog receives while under the care of Positive Paws, together with any associated costs. 

The owner gives consent for Positive Paws to seen veterinary advice or treatment if this is deemed necessary. Where possible this will be carried out the dog’s usual/ preferred vet but this is not guaranteed.

Positive Paws likes to ensure that all dogs enjoy their walk and where possible this will be off lead; however, no dog will be let off lead unless the “off lead consent form” has been signed.

Female dogs may not be permitted to attend any dog walking sessions (individual or group) while in season or pregnant.

In order to provide you with a full and interactive service Positive Paws may wish to take photos or videos of dogs whilst out on walks.  This will be agreed with owners.  All such media remains the property of Positive Paws Dog Training.

Positive Paws Dog Training is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged leads, collars, tags, clothing or any other item left with their dog.

Owners should ensure that dogs have not eaten in the hour prior to pick up for a walk as this could result in gastric illness.

By providing Positive Paws Dog Training with key to their property they are indemnifying us in full against any liability arising from loss or damage to the property or its contents.

Payment Terms

For regular dog walking payment must be made via BACS Transfer.  This must be paid one week in advance and thereafter on the same day each week.

We reserve the right from time to time to change or amend these Terms & Conditions without notification.
